We encourage you to tell your story in Arabic, English, or French, Choose the language of your preference and share your story with storytellers community around the world.

Esri NA invites GIS professionals in Egypt, Sudan, South Sudan, Libya and Chad to join the competition

All award winners will also receive an ArcGIS Pro course at Esri NA's Training Center.

We encourage you to tell your story in Arabic, English, or French, Choose the language of your preference and share your story with storytellers community around the world.

Submitting Your Work

*Choose the topic and language of your preference * Create your storymap using all functional features *Publish your storymap * Share links with story brief on your Facebook and Linkedin Pages *Fill in the registration from and press submit before end of 11 Nov. 2025 Wish you all the best! Submission Deadline: 11 November 2025

Key dates

Recognition

All winners will:

  • Receive 2025 Contest Winners' certificates
  • All Winners Congratulation post on Esri NA social media pages
  • Be featured on the Esri NA website and social media platforms 
  • Attend special GIS training course for winners at Esri NA training center
  • Receive training course completion certificates

The Storytelling with Maps Innovation Award winner will receive a special award.

Requirements

Applicants 18 years and older from Egypt, Sudan, South Sudan, Libya and Chad may enter the competition once in one of five categories:

  1. Travel, sports and  culture
  2. Health and safety
  3. Environment and sustainble development
  4. Nature and science
  5. Planning and infrastructure.

Applicants should be individuals, not groups or teams.

All  Storymaps should be developed and published through licensed ArcGIS Online (AGOL) organizational accountsto ensure compliance with Esri’s licensing and data governance policies.

Each Participant is requested to submit his/her Esri Customer no. along with the published Storymap link.

Judging Criteria

Esri NA will select up to 10 winners collectively from all categories.  

The following special awards might also be granted:

  • The innovative Student award
  • The Storytelling with Maps Innovation Award 

Entries must be built using ArcGIS StoryMaps.

Submission Must  Include

  1. Link of published ArcGIS storymap
  2. Link of published ArcGIS storymap on individual's Facebook page
  3. Link of published ArcGIS storymap on individual's LinkedIn page
  4. Esri Customer no. 

Storymaps submissions missing any of the 4 requirements will be eliminated from the competitin.

Terms and Conditions

By entering the EsriNA 2025 ArcGIS StoryMaps competition, you  authorize Esri NA to add your information to its database and keep you updated on Esri news, events and offerings and publish your submitted Storymap on any of its channels.

Important Notice: Failing to provide your valid Esri Customer no. will automatically eleminate you from the competition.

In 2022 competition, we were amazed by the submitted Storymaps, to the extent that we decided to double the no. of winners and we loved all the submitted stories! Below are some Storymaps titles to get you inspired and fuel your imagination!
